Founded in 1913 by three national associations of independent consulting engineers, FIDIC has grown to become a leading global organisation, representing over one million engineering professionals and 40,000 firms across approximately 100 countries. Throughout its history, FIDIC has been at the forefront of shaping the engineering, construction and infrastructure industry. We have not only provided the industry with a framework of contractual documentation but also made a lasting impact through landmark projects around the world.
LIKA is pleased to be a FIDIC member for 20 years.
We have gained a lot from our international colleagues during this time and have implemented many things Latvian construction industry, including FIDIC contract draught forms, procurement selection criteria, and various good practise principles recognised internationally.
We are pleased that we, Latvian representatives at FIDIC have access to all the latest information from FIDIC organization, as well as excellent opportunities to improve by participating in the work of the FIDIC organization.

The Latvian Association of Consulting Engineers had the honour of hosting in Riga representatives of the Board of the European Federation of Engineering Consultancy Associations (EFCA), as well as colleagues from the Estonian Association of Architectural and Consulting Engineering Companies and the Lithuanian Association of Engineering Consulting Companies. The meeting took place on 4 March 2026.
